About Light Them Foundation

Our Story

Light Them Foundation was born from lived experience—not theory, not charity trends, but real classrooms with cracked desks, shared textbooks, and quiet doubts about whether education would ever open a door.

We are teamed together as students who struggled through our early education. Students who walked into classrooms already tired. Who studied without enough books. Who nearly stopped believing that effort alone could change our future. For many of us, reaching high school felt like standing at the edge of something we weren’t sure we were allowed to enter. And yet, against the odds, we kept going. A teacher who noticed. A small opportunity. A moment of support at the right time. That was enough to keep the light on.

Today, those same students are enrolled in universities. Not because the struggle disappeared—but because someone, somewhere, chose to believe in them when it mattered most.

Light Them Foundation exists to become that moment for others. We support children and students in communities like Ntaruka Fisher so that lack of materials, fees, or support, does not decide their future. We know the struggle because we lived it. And we know the power of education because it changed our lives.

This foundation is our way of reaching back—so the next student doesn’t have to walk that road alone.
